This building was originally known as the "Jeweler's Building" as it was created for Chicago's diamond merchants with an elevator that carried cars to the 22nd floor when delivering diamonds. A vintage birdcage elevator, which climbs to the dome, was once used to access the notorious speakeasy, the Stratosphere Lounge which was an infamous hangout for Al Capone
