Keeping Jersey 'special' has never been easy or indeed always possible. Currently there is a tangible groundswell of public unease at the marked changes to the character of much of our coastline, changes that are leaving Islanders with a genuine sense of concern.
Through it's Coastline Campaign, launched in 2006, The National Trust for Jersey now feels compelled to provide a positive channel for this concern.
The principle aim of "A Line in the Sand" is to provide Islanders with a simple opportunity to actively and visibly show their suppport for the safeguarding of Jersey's superb coastline. The idea is to form a human chain along the beach at St Ouen stretching from Le Braye towards L'Etacq. Please join us at 1.00pm on Sunday 4 October to show your support for protecting Jersey's precious coastline. The event will be marked with an aerial photo taken at 2.00pm. For further information and updates visit www.coast.je or see local media. Mike Stentiford MBE, President, National Trust for Jersey, Coastline Campaign.
