Description

Adjusted to bring out the details in the darker areas of gigapan.org/gigapans/33950/.Completed in 1927, this Roman Catholic church has been recently restored for the 150th anniversary of its founding. I grew up in this town and this beautiful church is where I was baptized, confirmed and married. The stained glass windows, over 50 of them, portray scenes from the Old and New Testament of the Bible and are often used to illustrate the subjects of the sermons during Mass. The only lighting in this photo is from the sunlight coming through the windows. The German company, Franz Mayer of Munich was the designer and builder of the windows.
