Vernon Valley is bounded by two Crystalline Appalachian ridges known as Pochuck Mountain and Wawayanda Mountain. On the top-left corner, it is the highest point of New Jersey at 1,803 feet (550 meters).
I have uploaded another pano here for the same view but shot in the summer (titled Sussex County, NJ (1)). It is interesting to compare these two photos. gigapan.org/gigapans/31748
