You were lucky with your auto exposure. I recomment using a manual exposure. Also, to minimize vignetting ( darkening at the corners and edges ) increase the aperture value which makes the diaphragm opening smaller. You then use less of the outer portion of the lens and minimize vignetting. If you have Photoshop or Aperture you can make a uniform adjustment to these photographs and then restitch the panorama.
