After a training class on how to use the gigapan robotic camera
unit,we were able to take practice gigapans at Phipps Conservatory.
The weather was rainy and cold but I wanted to capture the fall color of leaves,
not a common site in Hawaii. I located a small balconey with a protective cover
next to a restaurant that over looked the valley near to Phipps. This was my first
solo gigapan and after taking the photos and returning to Phipps to process the image
I found out that aligning the images was not possible because I was missing images
from the sequence. I learned later to compensate for this problem by increasing
the time between exposures. I brought back the raw images and with the help
of a friend added a few sky images and realigning the raw data by changing the
photo sequence. We were able to get this image of the fall colors in Pittsburgh.
