This cabin was moved to the Pittsburgh campus in conjunction with the University’s bicentennial celebration in 1987; this restored log cabin symbolizes Pitt’s humble origins as the “Pittsburgh Academy” founded just 11 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. In the background is seen the tower of the Heinz Chapel.
