The exposure was hard - bright sky, shaddowed streets, so I went and tried automatic exposure. I am pretty happy with the result.
Obvious issues here and there, but using auto exposure allowed me to capture a scene which would not have worked otherwise.
(or would not have worked with my existing mental tool set :-)
