Description

This image shows the eastern end of Princes Street Gardens in Scotland's capital city.

The crazy gothic steeple is the (Sir Walter) Scott Monument and the fine building to its right is the Balmoral Hotel. Behind this is the old Scottish Office, a fine public building.

The clock on the Balmoral Hotel is traditionally set a few minutes fast to give commuters a few extra minutes to catch their trains.

Waverley Bridge (above the station of the same name) is in the foreground, and North Bridge is in the background.
