New York City, Times Square, 46th street, East side of Times Square, January 2010 by Don

Mayor Bloomberg has closed sections of Broadway near Times Square, this is the smartest thing any Mayor of New York has ever done!!! Now there are chairs, tables and chairs, and just plain open space for people to wander around in, stop, sit down, and take in the surroundings. Before you were limited to a few feet of sidewalk, with cars, trucks & buses whizzing all around you. This view is of the East side of Times Square as seen from 46th Street. The stitcher had some minor problems with all the movement at grade level, but overall I like the image. Search on “drh” for more Times Square gigapans (being posted in June 2009)
