The Oakland Bay Bridge is a classic Deco design. www.gigapan.org/gigapans/27403/ Not all significant structural works are fully appreciated. I am sure that one could dedicate themselves to bridge GigaPans alone and not run out of subjects.

If you put Rodgopan Bristol into the search box you'll see our famous Bristol Bridges!! Keith (also a Scot)

There is a bridge of a similar design to the GG in Portugal: cruises.about.com/od/europeancruis es/ig/Lisbon-Portugal/lisbon006.htm Will open in
a new tab or window I suppose that it is an icon there too. Impressive engineering usually makes for great GigaPans. We as the photographers get to recognize and shoot the neat stuff that we find. GigaPan photographers have to hange around and and get to enjoy being in the places that we shoot.

I was of course being slightly tongue in cheek, how can you compare national monuments or icons? - I drove over the Golden Gate in a Chrysler Seabrine(?) with the roof down - magnificent! Only wish it had been a 911

You do have a very nice bridge there and it is great that you shared it with us. Those of us that live near the Golden Gate enjoy our bridge that was completed in 1937 after 3 years of construction. www.gigapan.org/gigapans/18716/ If you ever rode in a convertable Porsch across our bridge to head up the coastal highway, you would understand how the location of the Golden Gate is part of its charm.
