GigapanMagazine.org vol 2 issue 3
This pano is taken next to the St. Mary's Cathedral on Fort Street Mall and in front of the Portuguese memorial, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, or Symbol of the Discoveries, honoring Portuguese immigrants who journeyed to Hawaii in the 19th century.
Land for the cathedral was a gift from King Kamehameha III to the Catholics to atone for what some call persecution, for Hawaiian alii had sided with Protestant missionaries and made life difficult for early Catholics in Hawaii. Ground was broken for St. Mary's in 1840. It was consecrated and dedicated in 1843.
This pano is the revised stitch with Auto Pano Giga (Kolor). Some pluses and minuses in this software for this image, mostly pluses. In any case it was a good learning experience. Some frames are blurred because of the reconfiguration, on the other hand the collapsing on the right found in the first gigapan stitch has been corrected, and some characters are now at least whole rather than completely hackneyed.
