The Little Colorado starts in the White Mountains on the east side of Arizona and takes a very circuitous route all over the northern part of the state before joining the Colorado a bit east of the Grand Canyon National Park.
This particular location is where the sandstone of the Painted Desert meets the lava from the San Francisco Peaks, which are seen in the far right of the panorama. Some of the water from melting snow there also finds its way into the Little Colorado.
The falls are about 175 feet and run at their fullest during the summer monsoon rains. There are lots of people in this panorama. It was a beautiful day to be there
