Sears Tower (Willis Tower) The Ledge by Christopher Davis

Gigapan taken from "The Ledge" of the Willis Tower (formerly The Sears Tower). The glass-bottom skydeck is located on the 103rd floor of he skyscraper. There are 4 glass cantilevered boxes all facing west. The glass ledge protrudes 4.3 feet out of the skyscraper, suspending the viewer at a breath-taking height of 1,353 feet above South Wacker Drive. This panorama was taken in the early morning with the rising sun on the other side of the building casting its massive shadow into the photo. To the left (south is the Dan Ryan expressway (I-90/94) that trails from left to right of the photo, the right (north) side of which becomes the Kennedy expressway. The Stevenson Expressway (I-55) can also be seen to the left. Near the center of the photo is the Eisenhower (I-290) and the center bottom of the photo shows the "Circle" interchange where most of the expressways converge.
