Water has filled this abandoned quarry. Since the quarries ceased operation in the 1960's, spots like this became popular for cliffjumping. The local authorities tried to prevent this dangerous pastime by floating telephone poles in the water. These sank and made the situation even more dangerous.
As the rope on the sunlit rock face shows, this practice may not have ceased.
