Description

The Federal Legislative Palace of Venezuela, also known as Capitol Hill, is located southwest of the Plaza Bolivar and was built in 1872 by order of then-President Antonio Guzmán Blanco, being the work by the engineer and architect Luciano Urdaneta. In 1873 the south was opened housing the rooms where they took out the legislative session, while in 1877 he inaugurated the so-called Oval Room, meeting both sectors connected by two bodies that lead to a huge central courtyard.

This show has an oval shape and emphasizes especially the fantastic golden dome, contains valuable pieces, among which are the Declaration of Independence signed on July 5, 1811 and you can only appreciate in important holidays, the constitutions of the country also arranged chronologically and a painting of the so-called Battle of Carabobo, the work of Tovar y Tovar.

Today you can still see the central source made based on a draft Duvale in 1873. Originally executive headquarters, the Capitol today houses the headquarters of the National Assembly and was also headquarters of the Federal Court and the legislature. The Capitol opened its doors to the public Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 11:00 and 14:00 to 16:00 hours.
