Łomnica (2634 m) jest drugim co do wysokości samodzielnym masywem tatrzańskim. W latach 1936-40 zbudowano kolejkę linową na Łomnicę, która w dwóch odcinkach pokonuje odległość 6 km i 1720 m wysokości. Budynek stacji na szczycie połączony jest z obserwatorium meteorologicznym i astrofizycznym.

In years 1936 - 40 a cableway was built on Lomnica which is defeating the distance of 6 km and 1720 m at two stretches heights. The building of the station on the peak is toing interface with a metereological observatory and astrophysical.
