Actually Stewart is one of the 'original' balloon mappers - he's got a ton of experience doing this sort of thing and we're lucky to have him as an authority on the Grassroots Mapping mailing list.

Did you use helium filled garbage bags / balloons to make aerial photographs and then Orthorectify them before stitching the photos toghether? That is what the Grassroots Mapping project does. wiki.grassrootsmapping.org/show/Ho mePage
