Research Technicians for the Pennsylvania State University, Mike Andree (right) and Rob Snyder (left)collect samples of honey bees and pollen from an apiary in York Springs, PA. They are joined by Amy Toensing and her husband, both freelance photographers on assignment for National Geographic. The hives in the panaorama belong to Pennsylvania beekeeper Dave Hackenberg. The bees have been moved across the country from California to pollinate almonds, to Pennsylvania to pollinate Apples and then onto Maine to for blueberry pollination.
