2001-10-13 Fall Folage - Finger Lakes Region in up state New York after the wedding of Michael and Molly Thompson by Jim Meinel

Right after 9-11 we attended a wedding in up state New York for the son of good friends.

Air travel was difficult and highly restrictive at that time so we flew to Chicago and drove across the top of the US in to Canada and back in the US near Nigagra Falls.

After the ceremony, we took a drive because the autum day was so beautiful.
Along a country road, I had to stop and take this picture.

31 hand held images stitched together produced this beautiful image of a place that is "So not Hollywood" where we lived at the time.

I was still learning about and feeling my way through digital panoramas, so all the images I shot were landscape formats rather than portrait formats, which would have given me more foreground and sky; but who knows how it would have turned out if I had shot it that way
