This a gigapan panorama of the Tanner graben, adjacent to the Tanner rapid in Grand Canyon. The black rock in the center is the 1104 Million year old Cardenas Basalt bounded on either side by faults. The center block was dropped down relative to the red rocks on either side. Also seen in this panorama are folks from the University of New Mexico Trail of Time crew. This group of researchers are working with the National Park Service to create the Trail of Time Geologic Exhibit on the South Rim of Grand Canyon. Anticipated completion of the exhibit is planned for October, 2010. tot.unm.edu Will open in a new tab or window/
