Our party takes in the view after an early morning hike. Like any archeological site, Nankoweap Granaries are a sensitive site. Although there is a compelling interest to see what is inside of the granaries, none of us climbed up to look in for three reasons: we could disturb the site, we could fall to our deaths, and we are afraid of snakes.
We talked mostly about the nature of the granaries and how the people who made them must have been extraordinary athletes to carry the materials to build and fill them all the way up the hill we had climbed.Grand Canyon GigaView is a new school virtual tour of the Grand Canyon created with a collection of GigaPan images taken on a private rafting trip in April 2010 and geolocated in Google Earth.
