GigaPan Interrupted - This one had some problems. This is the highest resolution GigaPan I attempted on the trip. It consists of over 620 pics and required both battery changes and memory card changes. There must have been some user error during the interruptions that lead to the results seen here. If anyone can diagnose this issue, you feedback is greatly appreciated.
Deer Creek Falls is a popular stop at river mile 136. The thunderous waterfall has stunned river runners from the very beginning."Just after dinner we pass a stream on the right, which leaps into the Colorado by a direct fall of more than 1000 feet, forming a beautiful cascade. On the rocks in the cave like chamber are ferns, with delicate fronds and enameled stalks." Major John Wesley Powell
The hike up Deer Creek through the narrow slot canyon of Tapeats Sandstone is along narrow ledges at points. A long day hike is possible from Racetrack camp is possible, but requires a boat shuttle for the hikers.
Grand Canyon GigaView is a new school virtual tour of the Grand Canyon created with a collection of GigaPan images taken on a private rafting trip in April 2010 and geolocated in Google Earth. Explore the journey grandcanyongigaview.tumblr.com
