Description

Goosenecks State Park is located near the southern border of the state of Utah. The park is 'simply' an overlook into the 1000 ft. deep meanders of the San Juan River that runs from southern Colorado through Utah and finally into Lake Powell where it joins the Colorado River. At some point in time, people from Phoenix and Los Angeles will be drinking the water that flows past this spot as they both draw on the Colorado River some 500 miles further downstream.

Brilliant GigaPan! I used to guide family river trips on the San Juan River (another lifetime ago) and exploring this one really brought me back. I'll never forget seeing Government Rapid run green in the extreme low water of 2000 or watching F-111 jet bombers screaming through the Canyon below the rim. I just took an Epic 100 down the Colorado through the Grand Canyon and shot 360 panoramas at 27 different locations along the way. search for "Grand Canyon GigaView" on GigaPan.org or check out the trip report at grandcanyongigaview.tumblr.com&nbs p;Will
