El Museo Bolivariano de Caracas fue creado en 1911, para conmemorar el Centenario de la Independencia de Venezuela. Es un espacio dedicado a conservar, salvaguardar y exhibir una serie de piezas pertenecientes al Libertador y a otros héroes que formaron parte de la liberación de Venezuela.

Luego de algunas modificaciones, el lugar es la suma de elementos coloniales y arquitectura contemporánea que albergan más de 1400 objetos, testigos de la vida y obra de nuestro grandioso héroe y pensador Simón Bolívar.

La exposición "Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad, la cotidianidad de un héroe" ocupa las salas 1, 2 y 3 de este recinto cultural ubicado en las esquinas de San Jacinto a Traposos, frente a la Plaza El Venezolano.

La colección de los Museos Bolivarianos está compuesta no sólo por pintura, sino también por armas y textiles como banderas y uniformes, entre otros objetos que ascienden a más de 3 mil piezas.

La exposición se aproxima a la vida del Libertador desde un punto de vista humano e intenta desmitificar la imagen solemne y ceremonial para acercarla a la cotidianidad a través de una museografía que invita a descubrir la historia presente en objetos como las hojas de servicio del cadete Simón Bolívar hasta el año 1797 y la respectiva a su servicio de subteniente hasta fin de 1799.

Otros aspectos que aborda la muestra se refieren a su efímera relación con su esposa y sus familiares.

Otras piezas de interés corresponden a distintos manuscritos y objetos personales como su escritorio de viajero que el público podrá apreciar directamente, así como sus efectos personales.

El museo está abierto al público en un horario de 9:00 a.m. a 4:30 p.m. y la entrada es gratuita.

The Bolivarian Museum of Caracas was founded in 1911, to commemorate the centenary of the Independence of Venezuela. This is a space dedicated to conserve, preserve and display a series of pieces belonging to the Liberator and other heroes who took part in the liberation of Venezuela. Museo Bolivariano is open to the public in a 9:00 am 4:30 p.m. and admission is free.
