This gigapan does not follow my rule of "It must look good as a wide angle panorama!" as it doesn't, but I decided to publish it anyway because of the unusually clear visibility over the Bristol Channel and the River Severn looking towards , Wales, Chepstow and the Forest of Dean.
The bridge on the right is the original Severn Bridge built in 1964 and that on the left is the Second Severn Crossing built in 1995. The second crossing is designed so that it doesn't have to close because of high winds but did have to close in 2009 when ice blocks were falling off it after a very severe frost.
642 shots (39x16) on Canon SX1
