Canon EOS 40D
Gigapan of Engelberg Abbey (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engelberg_Abbey ) and the surrounding area in Engelberg, Central Switzerland. The Benedictine monastery was founded in 1120.
Around the abbey, you see a part of the village of Engelberg including the Gemeindehaus (city hall) of the town. Behind the abbey, you see the lift going up to Brunni (www.brunni.ch /), a ski resort in winter and a nature/walking area in summer.
Engelberg (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engelberg ) is a popular tourist destination in Switzerland within an easy daytrip from Luzern (Lucerne). It is a spectacular area surrounded by mountains and is also at the basis of Titlis mountain which goes up to 3,239 meters (behind the photographer and not in the picture). Titlis is a popular central Switzerland ski resort and popular mountain area in summer.
