Aargh, another Rainbow Bug bites! That's two really bad Rainbow Bug stitching errors (this one and Dantes View - www.gigapan.org/gigapans/52231/) and they come on two of my most highly anticipated GigaPans. I'll forgo writing up a thorough description of this one until such time as I can get it to stitch prope...

Darbs, I'm intrigued by your recommendation, but I have to admit I'm a bit skeptical that it's actually the solution. As best I can discern the Rainbow Bug has nothing to do with photo acquisition and everything to do with some sort of bug in how they are being stitched together by the GigaPan Stitch algorithm. In any case, I'm not currently in a position to test your hypothesis with these two localities, unfortunately.

Ron, you can eliminate or minimize the "rainbow effect" by shooting your panoramas with the 360 degree setting and interrupting the shooting when you get to the angle of view that you want. Most of my recent ones were shot using this.
