On a cool evening in 1991 I was driving near the area when I saw flames coming out of the old "A" Mill. Since it was before the times of cell phones, I ran up to the office of the Corp of Engineers at the Lock and Dam and called the fire dept then the city desk of the Star Tribune where I worked. In 2001 the Minnesota Historical Society started working on the gutted and falling down building creating the the Mill City Museum
