- Description

The "Eleonora" is an exact replica (except for the boom which is 4mtrs shorter) of the famous racing yacht "Westward" which was owned by the legendary local philanthropist T.B. Davis, which he sailed throughout the 1920's, 1930's. including racing at the famous Cowes races, in which he competing against the super yachts of the day, including the "Britannia" the yacht owned by King George. T B Davis died in 1942 and his beautiful yacht was later scuttled in Hurd Deep off Aldernery. (N.B. The photo's for this image were recorded in a rather strong breeze which presumbly caused the jagged stitching of the masts?)

DSLR 600mm lens = 306 images. Regarding the stitching, I recently had a similar problem with a distant horizon.

Nice shot John. I notice this is 0.3Gpix but the field of view is only 55ยบ. What kit did you use/how many pictures? Re the masts, stitchers are known to have problems with lines running across an empty background. You will find many gigapans badly-stitched flagpoles and telephone cables for example.
