- Description

Main Rock Art Panel at Serra da Lua in Serra do Erere- Monte Alegre, Brazil along the Amazon River. The rock art here is about a meter wide and can be seen from a great distance. These images are believed to depict the sun and the moon. This quite possibly is a representation of a solar eclipse event that took place here at some point in the past. The image faces west where the sun would be in the later part of the year, toward the end of the day.
