Abraham Lake is an artificial reservoir on the North Saskatchewan River just east of Banff National Park on Highway 11 (The David Thompson Highway). The water is pure turquoise because of the suspended rock flour particles carried downstream from the glaciers in the Rockies. The mountain on the extreme left is Mount Michener, named after the Canadian Governor General. It's not unusual to see several dozen Bighorn Sheep in the area.
