Description

This is another attempt at making a multi focal plane "macro" pano.
It's small. Now that I know I can do this, it's on to a gigapixel multi-focal-plane pano.
Tools:
Epic100
Olympus E510
Kit 14-42 lens at 42mm (84mm equiv.)
F11 at 1/15 sec.
2.5 seconds per pic to allow for writing to XD card (slow)
8 focal planes - entire pano at each plane (I took 10 focal planes just in case)
Aligned and cropped in layers with PSCS2
Saved each layer as a separate file
Merged with Helicon Focus
1st layer at gigapan.org/gigapans/56842/
8th layer at gigapan.org/gigapans/56845/

Looks great, Richard. I can't find any seams or out of focus bits on my first examination. It'd be interesting if you'd post one of your input GigaPan images so one could compare it with this final product and appreciate just how shallow the focus of a single fixed focus plane macro compares with this.
