Haystack Butte by Lisa McKeon

Panorama from Haystack Butte, Glacier National Park, Montana. From this perspective Logan Pass, Granite Park Chalet, Swiftcurrent Lookout, Heaven's Peak Lookout, and the Continental Divide can be seen, as well as hikers on the Highline Trail and the Hidden Lake Trail. The upper McDonald Creek drainage can be seen winding it's way through recently burned (2003) forest and the hanging valley above Bird Woman Falls contains glacial moraines from remnant glaciers. The lush green colors draped across this glacially carved landscape attest to a cool and moist summer, but soon the alpine regions will begin to show autumn colors.
