The Israeli government has recently increased the pace of home demolitions in the Negev desert. Just last month the village of Al Araqib was razed to the ground four times. The more than 80,000 Bedouins that live in these “unrecognized” villages are being forced off their ancestral lands into government-created towns where there is a shortage of jobs and services, and they are unable to pursue their traditional agriculture-based lifestyle.

This photo was taken by the volunteer youth group at the Mossawa Center.
