A trio of glaciers photographed from Grinnell Glacier Overlook along the Continental Divide in Glacier National Park, Montana. Grinnell Glacier has the lake affronting it's ice margin, Salamander Glacier is the long feature still covered with seasonal snow in the foreground, and Gem Glacier sits along the crest of the mountains in the notch just to the right of the highest peak, Mount Gould. Icebergs, calved from Grinnell Glacier, float in Upper Grinnell Lake. Retreat of mountain glaciers is being studied by the USGS Climate Change in Mountain Ecosystems program at Glacier National Park www.nrmsc.usgs.gov/research/glacier_research.htm
