As can be seen from my collection of skyline panoramas, http://tinyurl.com/HoustonSkylines0 01, I too have taken panoramas from tops of garages, but I catch the lift to the top and shoot from there. Regarding security, check this out: http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/290 37/snapshots/90593/ This dude is taking a photo of my car with his cell phone since I parked there on a Sunday afternoon and he had nothing else to do. Lots of security-video cameras all of the Texas Medical Center.

Yeah Houston is something else, David. I remember taking pictures from the observation deck of the Texas Commerce Tower in the mid 1980s and being told by a security guard that professional photos were forbidden because "the view is copyrighted"! In this case, the castle had an outdoor balcony. I'm also a fan of parking garages. Your fee gives you the right to be there and you can drive right up to the place you want to shoot.

Tom, your knack for gaining access to rooftops amaze me. Here in Houston, we are at war and it is impossible for me or anyone to gain access to open-air roofs, so the work that you exhibit is pretty amazing. This GigaPan as well as the Downtown Minneapolis GigaPan, http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/296 80/, are really spectacular.
