Description

View from trig point above Rapaki Track at 288m asl. A frosty start under high pressure which has meant that smoke, etc, is trapped under an inversion layer.

The previous attempt to stitch the panorama had problems with a warped horizon because the stitcher thought the field of view was very small. This seems to have been caused by applying the lens correction profile in Lightroom 3 before exporting each image - I used a Canon 7D with a 100-400mm at 300mm...

Thanks. Still waiting on the perfect conditions - sunny, light winds and after rain to clear the air....

Great panorama! Congratulations! Last January on the way down to the Ice I hiked Port Hills to take similar gigapan of Christchurch. Unfortunately I did not reach this point and instead I have taken a panorama of Lyttelton on the other side of the hills. http://gigapan.org/gigapans/62262/< /a>
