This image shows the 2007 Moonlight Fire, in the Upper North Fork Feather River Watershed. All of the land in this image burned. The clearcut areas in the distance are privately owned - mainly owned by Sierra Pacific Industries. These lands were salvage logged after the fire (the fire-killed trees were removed). The unlogged lands in the foreground and background of this image are public lands managed by the US Forest Service.
