The central areas of Petrified Forest National Park including Blue Mesa, Newspaper Rock, Agate Bridge and Jasper Forest feature major areas of Native American history and geologic importance. This section of the park offers striking examples of Native American ruins, petroglyphs, unique rock formations such as the pyramid shaped Solonoms Throne, hoodoos and deeply eroded gullies, and numerous examples of petrified wood.
