This is an image of a live oak tree on a piece of land that local environmentalists are trying to save from development. The area provides a wonderful opportunity to walk through a habitat filled with many native (and some non-native) plants as well as birds and other animals. Wild coffee (Psychotria nervosa) grows at the base of the tree and muscadine grape vines (Vitis rotundifolia) and Spanish moss (Tillandsia usneoides) hang from the tree.
