Description

A quick glance at this ho-hum image appears to show only a corn fields, with a highway 300-600 meters in the background. Scrolling in reveals a flock of ~230 familiar-looking Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) and nearly 100 American Crows (Corvus ). Hidden amongst these common birds is a rare visitor to North America, a vagrant Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis) first spotted by David Sibley on 20 October. Can you find it in this image? In general, Barnacle Geese are smaller than Canadas, with a mostly-white head, shorter and thicker neck, and body is less brownish in color.
