Description

The eleventh and final shot in my Amsterdam series. The subject of the image is the building with the ornate facade in the centre of the image. Unfortunately I lack the necessary skill needed to stop Autopano making a mess of the top centre of the building, but that's what you get for selling your soul to Satan.

Clearly I still have some way to go with regard to taking night gigapans and tone-mapping them, but images like this make me want to try harder.

The first image in the series is www.gigapan.org/gigapans/66223/

Kind of you (as ever) to say so. I am enjoying learning to do night panos although working at night adds many more things to the "don't forget" list eg Gigapan Rule 162612(b): When shooting a 360 at dusk ensure that the point at which the edges of the pano will join is opposite the subject of the gigapan otherwise you will end up cursing yourself as a prat.

I think you did well, Kilgore. This was a difficult subject.
