This is a 360 degre panorama that sweeps across the landscape of Petra. It was taken from the promentory of al-Habis where the Crusaders had located an outpost in the 12th century. Parts of this structure are visible center left. The panorama begins with the Wadi Abu Ullayqa leading out north from the site. Next it captures the city denter, the northern extensions and the main road. In the distance one can see the major royal tombs and many lesser tombs. The image next captures part of the Crusarer fort and above it the southern extensions of the city. The center of the image is dominated by the regions highest mountain, Um al-Biyara. As we contiue there is another wadi (valley) leading west from the city and a series of other peaks that have been quarried and outfited with additional funerary monuments. Now at the far right of the image we return to the same valey and can glimpse part of the village of Um Sayhoun where the beouin that formerly inhabited the site as their ancestral lands hav esince been relocated by the Jordanian government.
