The Lookoff is located north of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, near the town of Canning. It is on the North Mountain (really a ridge), which, together with the South Mountain ridge, forms "The Valley", the most fertile agricultural district in Nova Scotia --- famous for apples, pears, plums, grapes, berries and cherries and all sorts of vegetables. Seen to the left is the Bay of Fundy, site of the world's highest tides. Across the further inlet seen at the left, too, is Grand Pre National Historic Site, the settlement mentioned prominently in Longfellow's epic poem "Evangeline" which tells the story of young lovers separated during the deportation of the French Acadians by the British government in 1755. To the right of Grand Pre is Wolfville, home to Acadia University, one of Canada's oldest. to see more about the Annapolis Valley, visit: www.annapolis-valley-vacation.com/index.html
