EXHIBITS
Earthquake House
"Drop, cover, and hold on" in OMSI's newly renovated Earthquake House, where you can experience simulations of two earthquakes that happened in the Pacific Northwest—one a magnitude 5.6 and the other a 6.8! Find out how likely damage from natural disasters is to occur in your neighborhood using the new Natural Hazards in Portland computer kiosk. Print out and take home hazard information about your neighborhood and tips on preparing for such events.

Engineer It!
This 7300 square foot exhibit in the main area of the Turbine Hall. It introduces the principles of engineering with fun and challenging hands-on activities, including bridge building sets, CAD workstations, and boat building kits.

Space
Launch water rockets, climb into a replica of the Gemini space capsule, learn about planetary orbits, and much more when you visit the Space exhibit in OMSI's Turbine Hall.

Light and Color
View a variety of amazingly lifelike holograms, split white light into a rainbow of colors, discover the physics behind reflection, and uncover the science behind periscopes.

LABS
The Vernier Technology Lab features engaging, in-depth units on different aspects of technology, including Security, Biomedical, Robots and Computers, Communications, and Household Technology. The units rotate frequently, so that every time you visit OMSI you'll find something new to do in the lab!

The Chemistry Lab offers a wide variety of hands-on experiments and activities, and gives visitors the opportunity to safely mix, measure, and pour chemicals. The Chem Lab website is also the home of Experiencing Chemistry, a unique online resource for chemistry curriculum and engaging experiments.

Discover the hair-raising effects of static electricity with the Van de Graff Generator and view some of the first phonographs ever made at the Physics Lab.

In the Laser and Holography Lab, visitors can explore laser light show effects, investigate the refraction properties of water, and learn how holograms are created.
