The Bosque Humedo site in Sector Santa Rosa, Area de Conservacion de Guanacaste (ACG), Costa Rica.

110225 - Set up Connor on his week-long task to sort through the 1998-2000 Malaise traps from the top of Volcan Cacao. The rental company is bringing out a 4x4 to replace the temporary car given to us at the airport. The day was completely clear, somewhat breezy with ciccadas calling all day. Very hot (>30 C). Traps out and bait down at 9:20am. Takeing the GigaPan (near Bait 6) was problematic as the batteries died and the shutter arm fell off. took about 4hrs to finish with a hard re-start. There were ticks everywhere! Videos of Atta at Bait 2, Large Camponotus at Bait 5, Crematogaster, Atta and Solenopsis at Bait 3 and Small Camponotus at Bait 4. All up at 2:50pm. Dominant species, Paratrechina and Solenopsis
