This is the root tube array used for growth and study of plant root systems. These are 10 feet in the ground. There is a 12 inch outer pipe sleeve and a 10 inch inner pipe with the growth medium and plants. The inner tubes are removed with a tractor and then split to allow washing of the growth medium from the roots. To see results of the effort search 'roots' or 'TLI'.
