The Cardboard Institute of Technology (C.I.T.) engaged the Exploratorium with a month-long, ever expanding environment made almost entirely out of cardboard. Continuing the ongoing evolution of the infamous cardboard city Cardburg. This incarnation of the city deals with the workings, aesthetic, and social structure of the Cardboard underworld. A secret inner sanctum (S.I.S.) is filled with pipe works, a giant ballast air mover, underground dwelling structures, kinetic sculptures, micro-environments, colliding macro worlds, and many surprises yet to be imagined.
Throughout the month of February 2011, members of C.I.T. will hosted several workshops and open build days inviting the public to help evolve the underground society.
