- Description
-
Well hidden behind cottonwood trees lies Oak Creek as it passes by the cedar shingled L'Auberge de Sedona Resort. Eventually, that same water flows into the Verde River and then the Salt River, passing right through Phoenix before it connects into the Gila River that goes all the way to Yuma and the Colorado River. Off in the distance is the Ponderosa Pine-covered Mogollon Rim at 6400 ft., 2000 ft. higher than the creek. That forest stretches from north of Flagstaff to the New Mexico border in south-central Arizona.
